I was in the hospital for a few days several months back. Coincidentally it was for a kidney related issue (a kidney stone that measured half and inch in diameter). That’s a fairly big deal for those of you not familiar with kidney stones. It meant that it was too large to pass it through to my bladder and then pee it out, so I was faced with either a painful invasive surgery or a non-invasive alternative that wasn’t guaranteed to work (thankfully it did work).
 
For those who don’t know, kidney stones have been rated as the second most painful sensation known to mankind. The third most painful is natural childbirth and the #1 most painful is platypus venom. This information has interestingly enough been confirmed by people who were unfortunate enough to have experienced all three of those at different times.
 
Anyways, while I was in the hospital one of the things that kept happening was the heart monitor kept doing that error thing. After a moment or so a nurse would come into the room to check and reset it.
 
As it turns out those devices have a habit of going into some kind of “error detected” mode or something if the connected device that they clip to your finger to monitor your heart/pulse gets moved around too much since it will falsely detect a problem and then the machine has to be reset.
 
Looking at how the wires/tubes hooked up to Scoots are positioned it doesn’t surprise me that the machine would start displaying that error.
