Description

“I just want to have my own life. My own destiny. My own cutie mark…My own name…”

Warning : This story takes place 100 years after Rarity dead. This story base on season 4. So anything that happened in season 5 will have nothing to do with this story.

Warning : This story’s an alternate universe and is really crazy at times.

Warning : a lot of 4th wall breaking and referencing. Sharing universe with “To Love God - To Love Mortal” but in the future and more crazy.

THE DAUGHTER, OBVIOUSLY!!!

Also, they might’ve, who knows? She could very well have been in the early stages of pregnancy, old love between them…

… Cause of death: Dragon Di-Wait, dammit, comments need to be safe… can’t make comments about sex here. Ugh…

Err, do you mean the daughter, or the relationship? Still slays me that both have the same name here.

And it does seem odd that the two of ‘em never conceived or adopted during Rarity’s original lifespan. Think that implies ponies & dragons aren’t ‘naturally’ interfertile in this verse?

Truth be told, I’m primarily sick of writers & readers trying to be Subversive(TM)~ by spinning Rarity (Nightmared or not) as a scheming, self-absorbed nag with minimal moral fiber. If it isn’t her serving as the Six’s Weakest Link(TM), it’s Spike being painted as Leagues Too Good For The Flighty Diva(R). Half the DA commentary on Page 11 was some flavor of “OMG SHE SACRIFICED HER DAUGHTER!” That really sound like a probability for one of the Friendship Rainbow Brigade’s vital components? Sheesh. Certain cohorts pull narrative-driven stunts just as awkward with far less backlash from show script & audience alike.

It seems by the Word of God it’s reincarnation rather than the other alternative, which like you, makes me much more receptive to the whole idea. Although I gotta admit it would be wonderfully dark with the moral quandary if both hypnotic persuasion and existential possession were involved and would certainly enhance the titular theme of the comic. Still, I guess it’s not a good idea to make your character less sympathetic right off the backstory bat, especially since the origin of the character might already be the grandest reveal she can muster.

And yeah, either the author was poking fun at the ship or just decided to go with the most uninspired name out of laziness. Either way, I lol’d.

You’d think her Nightmare-form resurrection alone would’ve made him suspicious (and/or furiously freaked-out). Hopefully their kid’s existence alone implies things were eventually explained & consented to (‘cause brainwash-driven conception…urgh). ‘Sides, Spike did see through an actual deception/seduction ploy on NMR’s part back in the day. So long as this development involved reincarnation instead of possession, the whole affair’s less sordid than I initially assumed.

But seriously, of all the names for a fan-foal…

Ok I take back what I said a few pages ago, Spike has reasons for fearing his daughter might be banished. Not the best of reasons considering Celestia’s merciful nature and the fact that Nightmare Rarity doesn’t seem to be evil after being reborn, but sort of understandable reasons none the less.

Gotta admit, interesting backstory for a sparity spawn. Wonder how much of the truth Spike knows of his daughter, dince Rarity seemed to imply nondisclosure about the arrangement thus far.
