Humdrum is adorable.

If I had been in charge of character color and design… I wouldn’t have gone with this setup, for certain.
 
I actually don’t mind most of the ponies’ colorings themselves. It’s their costumes that need some re-sampling now. The pink stripes on Pinkie worked fine for her, but for the real Filisecond here… I would’ve chosen something different, like either a blue, or an orange to compliment her mane.
 
Red and green no longer work on Marevelous. Zapp seems rather bleak with her outfit now. And Saddle Rager… well, the green’s not too bad, but different color accents for certain.
 
Radiance is about the only one in the entire group who still looks good in her current outfit. And Matterhorn… is the only one I would have chosen different body/mane colors for, and would have kept the outfit the same.

Your remark about Zapp is actually a good point. It’s similar to how Storm from the X-Men, is able to manipulate weather, but cannot create it, whereas Thor, being the genuine God of Storms (among other things), is able to create storms out of nothing. Perhaps it’s a similar difference. We never see Pegasi create full blown storms individually, outside of singular storm clouds they affect, and Dash creating a small scale tornado to deal with parasprites.

They could have done something really cool with the Power Pones by either Not making them look like the mane six or the mane six became the power ponies again.

Also Mistress Marevelous looks positively feral and I love it!

I’d argue that a some common super powers are exaggerated versions of human abilities. Secondly, I don’t believe there’s a lot of ponies that can actually do the green lantern stuff Radiance does. And as for Zapp being able to just summon weather is a lot different than how normal pegasi would have to set it up.
 
Unless you meant that Filisecond and Saddle Rager are the only ones who’s abilities don’t come from a piece of equipment. In which case you’re totally right.

as they aqre here, it is kinad obvious how redundant they really are. all they have are, arguably, exaggerrated versions of normal pony abilities. the only ones with any Actual powers are filisecond and the saddle rager.

I wonder if they’ll actually make Humdrum useless.

Because it might be a good comic idea to subtly show the danger factor, that the villains are a threat to a Dragon or the heroes are stronger or something.

My headcanon is that an accident caused her magic to go out of flux and the headpiece is meant to suppress. However, it comes at the price of her being unable to utilize any kind of magic aside from shoot beams.
 
For some reason, Mistress Mare-velous reminds me of Mirage Raphael from Turtles Forever.
