I know that chart probably wasn’t entirely accurate, I’ve seen other ones based off the same “8 foot” thing, but they still come to similar conclusions: Celestia would not be much taller than an average human: if it’s 5’5”, then that’s still below the average male in that picture; if she’s 6’1”, she’d still be a bit shorter than me - I’m 6’6” :). So, everything seems to show that the princess of little ponies would not be that much of a giant herself.

The candy cane in the picture is also leaning to the left, so the highest point in the image isn’t actually the top of the candy cane. Unless it was made crooked on purpose, but I’ve never seen one that’s anything other than straight.

Whoever made that analysis did a pretty bad job. For one, they said 3.44 feet = 37 inches, which is just plain wrong. It’s 41.28 inches, making Celestia over 5’5” by their other numbers. And second, they based their first height on a foal who was bending over, then applied that smaller number to Scootaloo when she was standing upright, so Scoot is at least 3 inches taller than they said, more if you include her mane, like they did everywhere else. So then, by their other comparisons, Celestia is 2.616 times Scootaloo’s height, meaning Celestia is at least 6’1”.
 
Of course, all that is assuming Twilight was perfectly accurate when she said that candy cane was 8 feet tall.
