I like to think the more important muscles have been covered well enough
I’m not saying it’s bad because it’s simple. Simple art styles can look amazing as long as it’s well-composed
If anything, anime is such an amazing form of art and animation.
Anime purposefully uses a simple art style so that many animators can easily work in a consistent style in a fast pace and often at a very low budget. However, this isn’t animation, this is illustration, which allows for more complex styles with no issue
But even then, anime screencaps I googled around showed that they still go a small length to adding in small nuances to convey musculature. The lines are not perfectly straight.

True, but then again Anime is rarely known for using musculature structure beyond a basic stick figure for most characters.
