To be fair, there are fewer male characters, and particularly fewer significant male characters, in the series, so hetero shipping has fewer options available, and less of them offer anything particularly interesting. And if you’re trying to do boy-on-boy, there’s really slim pickings.
Because it feels like it in this fandom.

If pairings are structured around maturity, there’s not that many romantic prospects available to Discord. Apple Bloom probably has him beat in terms of maturity. Let that sink in.

Relax people, of course there are no phones and text messages in Equestria, I was just saying how it works for us, last time I gave apology flowers to a woman I was not romantically interested was…never. Of course Discord reasoning for “apology flower giving” could be completely distinct.
In other things, I see my BP pony number as #A616 but apparently you see it (and quote it) as #A6E4…crazy, and it could be a problem in more dynamic conversations at peak hours.

Not that this should surprise anyone, of course…
It’s possible Celestia has no phone, given that the level of tech seen in Equestria can be… inconsistent.
And it depends on what you’re apologizing for. If you’re trying to say “Sorry I betrayed you and sold out your country and its people to the devil,” I think you should probably do better than flowers, but since this is Discord I wouldn’t hold your breath for that.
If you wanted to apologize with a girl that is a mere acquaintance, you would phone her, or send her a text message.

You make me laugh. The ship wasn’t disproved, if anything Meghan’s answer is supportive of both sides. After all, apology flowers can be given no matter your relationship status, past or present, and she never said anything about their relationship, just the flowers. Regardless, people can ship what ever it is they want and shouldn’t feel discouraged or hated for it. Have a wonderful day!
