It’s because its the right hat, but Star Swirl’s fashion sense is so terrible that one you can’t help but comment on his poor tastes.
Because… Fuck logic? Also, judging by the previous comic this ministories are non-canon EVEN inside the comics and just random “What if” strips on how Starswirl probably got his hat.
…both are just silly and not what you could picture a great magician like Starswirl did to get his legendary hat.
