Misreading comments as intentionally stupid things isn’t a good habit, especially if you’re trying to totally pwn someone’s opinion. People aren’t likely to be convinced when you attack them for something they aren’t actually saying.
 
Then again, attacking them for what they are saying isn’t much better.

Well the same sorts of comments tend to show up no matter how well made the art is or how much it deviates from the original fanfic - or even if there’s no actual reference to it at all beyond Pinkie in a grimdark situation - so I’m not inclined to read the comment as anything other than selectively applied double standards seldom raised on other subject matters.

To be fair, the subject matter has been done to death(ahaha), and this doesn’t seem to be a very interesting deviation on the concept.

Let me check again…Nope, still reeks of the “THIS THING I DID NOT LIKE THE FIRST TIME HAS BEEN DONE AGAIN, PROVING IT SUCKS. WHY DO OTHERS STILL LIKE IT? LOOK AT HOW MUCH I DON’T EVEN CARE!” attitude that I see on a regular basis. I’m not just replying to him, I’m replying to the collectivity of people like him who shit on artist’s work not for its quality, but for the subject matter alone.
