Katie Cook has been very upfront that she gets what best could be called “hate mail” from fans when her stories break their fanon, and she laughs at it.
 
As such, she’s saying the part about nightmars in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Shhe’s fully expecting to get more of these and its how much vitriol that they will contain that she’s unsure of.

After the backlash over the Cadance/Shining Armor first love story being made akin to an 80’s romantic comedy, I can see why a lot of the complaints and irrational anger is stating to get to them

People would complain no matter what, but I admit that the comics have a silliness problem sometimes.
 
I wonder if she knows that her comics are paradoxically popular on /mlp/, despite them not paying of course.

To be honest I could put out something MLP related that is on the same level as ‘The Godfather’ and still be worried that fans will try to murder me because of something minor.
