A part of me would have found it interesting if Dkamond Tiara actually was a Crystal Pony instead of a normal Earth Pony as it would have given her a proverbial chip on her shoulder: the descendant of Imperial Refugees from 1000 years ago who fled from King Sombra’s tyranny, only for their people to slowly suffer from degradation and racism in Equestria because they weren’t “baseline” Ponies like the other Three Tribes. It would have given Princess Cadence more of an important role in the early parts of the Season before her introduction too as she would be going around attempting to defuse tensions between the Equestrians and the Imperial Refugees who are tired of being ignored and pushed around all the time.

Not too far off, but the eyes are supposed to be opaque.
