For what I see he act like a jerk no matter what you say about his work, you are misunderstanding others as well so your not one to talk about people being arrogant and pathetic.

i find it funny how not a single one of you has any idea who peter is and what he thinks and how he thinks, yet you are blowing your own opinions of him up as though they were true.
you claim so much but you don’t have any clue as to whats really going on.
1 example. PETER HATES IT WHEN PEOPLE PRAISE HIS WORK.
he wants people to give critisism. he wants people to tell him hes shit.
HE WANTS PEOPLE TO DO IT SO THAT HE CAN GET BETTER AT HIS WORK THAT HE DOES EVERY SINGLE DAY FROM THE MOMENT HE WAKES UP TO THE MOMENT HE FALLS ASLEEP.

And this is why I don’t think he has that problem, I know people like that to but Petey seems to not care about any help, he just seems to want to rant at people on the internet.
Ever one I know with this kind of problem, myself with one not the same but still needing the same way to work it out, but staying on the net and going around making things worse makes it look to me more like he has an ego problem then a confidence issues.
Yeah, basically. I’ve known some other people, both on and off the internet, who act like that. Thing is, though, the easiest way to get people to open up about it is to talk to them about it face to face. And in this particular instance, that’s something that Pete simply isn’t going to be able to do.

I had confidence issues and acted worse than Petey could ever hope to be. It is a miracle any of my friends stuck by me. Everything I said, even my compliments had a tinge of arseholery to them.
Sadly I never had any talent like Petey, so even though I am cured of my self-confidence issue, it’s not done a lot to help me out. Made me happier though.
So I think BG pone has got it spot on. I know it’s weird for someone who has real talent to have low confidence, but it fits.
And then do they berate the person?
Actually that’s precisely how someone with low self confidence acts my friend. It’s call compensating. People that need lots of bluster and posturing are generally people that lack self confidence and drive. They put on a facade to mask or overcome their fears and hang ups.
I’m talking not about his troll art, I’m talking about how he act to people, he’s a jerk to everyone that isn’t basically going “great work, your the best”, heck my first time talking with him was to nicely point out how something he posted here wasn’t anything to belong here and he just went “fuck you, I post what i want”, that’s not how someone with low self confidence acts when you try to be nice to them and even say the work was well done.
I can assure you I am doing neither. I think Petey is an immensely talented person that wastes all of his potential “trolling” instead of doing actual great work.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with just making troll art. I don’t like it, but it’s not inherently some horrible thing. Curt Sibling seems to have a little following with his weird teeth swatstikas everything thing, for example.
I also don’t mind simple or fast drawings, like The Weaver does. They are charming and fun.
What bothers me about Petey is I’ve seen some of his animation and it’s really top notch. He’s stone cold good at this and it shows. The problem is, I feel like he’s doing this sort of thing all the time because he’s too afraid to really apply himself, put his nose to the grindstone, comprimise a bit on his obsession on hand drawn frames, and create something really lasting and impressive.
I do respect Petey’s talent, that is true. It shines like semen on a hotel sheet under a black light. I just really, truly think he’s denying himself and the world something neat by being so emotionally stunted.
Ah well, he’ll probably just make a comic of a butt or something of this whole diatribe I just wrote.

Sure. People who are really good at what they do don’t need to “troll” people about things. They’re too busy actually succeeding with their talent.
You sure it’s low self confidence and not an over inflated ego bordering on megalomania?
He has low self confidence so by putting on his “I troll you face” he can dismiss even valid criticism of his work with ease. It’s a self defense mechanism that he uses to hide his insecurity. That’s why he’ll always be pretty average even with above average talent.
Don’t waste your time trying to reason with him, he’s a jerk even to people that like his work just because they don’t praise him for everything…
