The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@furrypony
Paleo diet contains substantial lean meat, and paleo diet is also an uncommon diet as vegetarian diet, therefore it would be expected that paleo-dieters are probably as health-obsessed as vegetarians.

Lies and slander, we eat fatty meat too, probably more so than lean (I sway between paleo and keto as I please. And by definition the paleo diet is way more common in us as a species compared to vegetarianism. It’s our ancestral diet. And it’s grown in massive popularity with the last decade or so, thanks to people waking up to the bullshit carbarge eaters feed us.

Also, and I can only speak for myself, ‘‘we’re’’ not so much obsessed per’ say, we’re more astonished that the paleo diet simply works, and satisfies us so well.

How about a study that compare health-obsessed vegetarians with health-obsessed paleo-dieters? Paleo diet contains substantial lean meat, and paleo diet is also an uncommon diet as vegetarian diet, therefore it would be expected that paleo-dieters are probably as health-obsessed as vegetarians.

We can also perform studies in India, where about 20 - 40% (statistics vary) are vegetarians (honey and milk allowed, but not egg). Since most of the vegetarianism is due to cultural/religious concerns, a random sample of vegetarians in India would likely not be health-obsessed.

>Disagreeing with a demonstrably false documentary.
>Beholden to McDonald’s.
Nobody said it was remotely good for you. Just that that guy lied out his ass about exactly how bad it was for attention and an agenda.

Perhaps true, misguided as they may be. But if you’re performing a scientific study, you’ll want your subjects to be as similar as possible outside the specific area you’re studying.

So for this, you’d WANT subjects on both sides that have roughly equal levels of activity, the same or no vices such as smoking or consuming junk foods, and with the same frequency. So on and such.
Unbiased understanding is the whole point of research. Otherwise, it’s just bad science, or attempts at pushing an agenda.

Honestly any comparison between vegans and nonvegans is going to be biased, because vegans by their nature are trying to be more health-conscious than the average person, either directly for dietary reasons, or just being that kind of personality.
Background Pony #AAC7
@Arne
Possibly. The drug thing is just what I heard.

Honestly, I’m pretty convinced most data showing veganism to be more healthy is fabricated, biased, or come from studies fixed to reach that specific finding.

I recall one a while back that found vegans to have all around better health, but they were quickly called out on their subjects being too wildly different. As in, their vegans were largely the health obsessed types, and their average dieters tended towards people who leaned more towards overweight and sedentary than normal.

@Jerkface
Pretty much. When people tried to duplicate it, the negative effects on health were nowhere near as bad.
Most subjects bodies were able to adapt to the massive intake of fat and salt, nobody got any organ damage, and everybody was able to function perfectly well, albeit with a bit less energy if I remember correctly.
That’s not to say a fast food diet is good for you, but it’s certainly not like pouring pure toxins down your throat like this claims.

By many accounts, that guy just wanted attention. And may have had a drug habit that the income from said attention could feed.

Didn’t Twilight have a line in there about how she “doesn’t come here that often” meaning she eats there but only rarely.

I watched that movie in school. I can’t believe I recognized the title just from seeing this picture, seeing how long it’s been since I’ve seen it.

Yeah… someone did the math and figured it was near impossible to get the the amount of calories the documentary claimed the guy ate, and even went on a pure fast food diet himself and lost weight. He made his own documentary about it as well as human dietary habits called “Fat Head”. It’s pretty good, I suggest watching it.

@Jerkface
Mostly. The facts stated it in a mostly true, however, when attempting to recreate it, no one could get the same results. Meaning, faked.

Everything is fine in regulations. Hell, a doctor once went a mcdonalds diet, helping to prove that even not-that-great-things-for-you can still be fine, taken in moderation.

The person in the documentary got the biggest sized options, and the least healthy burgers and drinks. When you can get a coffee and thing of yogurt for WAY less a day, and be perfectly fine.
