Bad news: She won’t draw ponies in NSFW action. The reason lies within the community that uses ponies on their dark fantasy and misogynist drawings or fiction:
Hi! I’m the artist behind themanesex. I feel at once flattered and embarrassed that people are linking my NSFW stuff to feminists I admire.
While I did try, with varying degrees of success, to create NSFW pony art from a feminist point of view, I’ve come to realize (with the help of blogs like yours) that that’s something I can do just as well with other characters, and I won’t be drawing that stuff anymore. So I may no longer be an ideal example for people wishing to defend NSFW pony content.
I find it curious that youd expect me to be pro-Molestia. Surely you didnt think, given all my efforts to depict sex as consensual and mutually pleasurable, that I should be perfectly happy with art that aggressively violates all of my values. Perhaps you have some fantasy of me as someone whos so thoughtlessly sex-positive that I think any and all sexual material should be defended and supported. Im afraid thats not the case.
_Im not sure why I should want to coexist peacefully with blogs that make light of rape, or treat it as something sexy, or make comedy or romance out of abuse. This isnt an issue where we can have it both ways. I want to obliterate rape culture. I dont want it across the street from consent culture. I want it to be nowhere.
Let me tell you a secret. I, myself, have many dark fantasies of my own. My sexuality is not always so gentle as you might guess from looking at my porn. Sometimes I experiment with trying to remove the problematic elements of these fantasies and reconstruct them in a positive way, and you can see the results of this in some of my BDSM-themed art. But sometimes I cant. Sometimes theres an idea that really really turns me on, but no matter how I twist it, any way I can think of to depict it would perpetuate harmful ideas.
doesn’t sit right with me.
I know, I understand the logic behind it. And a part of me does agree with that. But that kind of holding back of self-expression also isn’t something I like.
I suppose I’m coming from a society that is still, in some respects, very hostile towards sex. At least, when I was growing up it was. So I feel I’m canny enough to recognise that I’m a product of my environment.
My thoughts are that once it’s just a fantasy–and made clear it’s just that–one shouldn’t hold back in expressing themselves. But we don’t live in an ideal world, sadly. And expressing those ideas can be harmful, no matter one’s intentions.
Maybe that’ll change with time. I hope it does.
Still, it’s good to see art coming from RWL. She’s a great artist and, from what I’ve seen, person in general. I’d hate for that to be lost.
Actually, RWL is a lot better spoken and, let’s face it, saner than most DWM people, in such a way that I legit respect their views, even if I don’t agree.
Keep on rockin’ RWL.

(sigh)
…Nope, artist is just a nut. What a shame.
Doesn’t make the picture and concept any less great though!
>That and the description
That. That is some good shit right thar. Infinitely better than any of these other “feminist” posts that I’ve seen posted here. That being said, I was under the impression that Molestia wasn’t so much rapey in the days before it ended as it was just risque and questionable. And I still think the concept of rape culture as this permeating and widespread thing is a crock of bull, but I won’t go on about that. Derpibooru has seen enough drama.
Still, I respect this artist for conveying her ideas and her opinion eloquently without generalizing bronies, and I respect her choice to no longer make NSFW content.
Oh, and the picture is pretty good too.
It does seem like the sort of conformist rebellion the average teen would partake in, yes.
What I’d like to see is a pony who did it before she got her mark, only for the mark itself to be symbolize talent as an iconoclast. Thus a dilemma arises: does the pony flaunt her nonconformist mark, or does she keep it covered?
Love it.
The thing about art is that it communicates ideas. It will always do that, regardless of whether its creator or its audience wants it to. Even if it’s just meant to make someone laugh or get them aroused, it means something. It affects people. Every artist, every creator, has a responsibility to consider that.”
There may be still hope for us to get more art from RWL in a future.
And staying up all night, listening to loud music, making their parents aghast when they say Celestia is dumb and Luna rocks without knowing the first thing about either of them.
