I think Eternity snare was included in BNG mainly for Heroic and Inspired, and especially in limited formats (plus it’s a cantrip aura and they REALLY wanted a bunch of those running around lol). I read somewhere that while BNG still supports heroic (um, Hero of Iroas??), it’s supposed to encourage playing “wide” instead of “tall” (spreading your threats as opposed to piling them onto one creature)

Okay, I didn’t realize it was a reprint. Still don’t much care for it.

I know that not all of the cards can be good (there’s a Zombie Goliath that keeps getting passed around my friends because it’s a bad card). As well, and as FOME can testify, the set I invented for MLPFiM has some pretty bad cards in, even after I revised them.
You have to understand that not all cards in a set can be good. They have to include some bad cards in it, since booster pack pulls are supposed to be mostly luck. This also helps ensure game balance in drafts and sealed.

Eternity Snare is actually a reprint from Time Spiral. In that context, it makes perfect sense. It’s Dehydration with the usual two mana surcharge for being a cantrip. Remember, this was years before Paralyzing Grasp was first printed.
The picture combined with the flavour text of Whelming Wave is hilarious (if you take it as a quote from Dash instead of Kiora, especially).
I do, however, believe that Eternity Snare is WAY overcosted. WTH, Wizards? (Sure it’s a cantrip that hoses Inspired, but I’d rather just use a cheaper Claustrophobia. This, of course, means I’m going to get lots of Eternity Snares from the BotG packs I buy.)
A lot of these are quite well done! I can’t believe I didn’t think of using a Scootalycan or Big Babs Wolf image for Raised by Wolves. And Eye Gouge is just… yeah. Pain. All of the pain.

I love seeing that I’ve inspired someone. ^^
