I would totally celebrate that if our holidays were that badass.

Hearth’s Warming is pretty simple. A thousand years ago it was discovered that if ponies don’t leave each other giant frost horses will come and freeze everypony to death. Thus a holiday was created where happiness was mandatory. Of course, that meaning was lost in time, but even in the harshest of times it is vital that on that one day someone stands up to sing winter songs and opens a wrapped up box, or windigos will come and eat everypony’s face.

Apologies, and Seasons greetings.

Christmas isn’t just about the gifts or the family, or the origins behind it, There is something just as important if not more so, the effort. It doesn’t matter why you celebrate the holiday, or what religion you part of, it is all about the humanity. The effort to be kind and generous to those around you, and to celebrate said kindness.
 
What do you give the one who has everything? Or the one who has nothing? It can be anything, no matter how much time or money you have to spare, so long as you put the effort into it. Whether you buy it, or make it yourself. Whether they want it, or need it, or didn’t even know it existed. Whether just a simple present, an event, a book, a TV special or movie, you still need the effort.
 
Fluttershy being nice to Discord is a given, that’s true, but this must be the first time he ever received a gift from someone, not just something he conjured up for the hell of it. Here, he has something he can cherish, something he can never just throw away. The tears in his eyes really sinch it. And I’m sure that the rest of her friends, maybe even all of Equestria, can see that.
 
In case your wondering where all of this is coming from, I just watched the Nostalgia Critic’s video posted on Christmas eve, and at the end, he gives an epic speech about the true meaning of Christmas, over five minutes of it, showing his friends, and even his parents. The guy loves The holiday spirit and the goodness it brings about with all his heart, and maybe we should too.
 
Whatever holiday you have, whether it be Christmas or Hanukkah, Snoggletogg or Hearths Warming, just make sure it’s a great one.

Christmas is a pagan holiday involving tree worship that was first celebrated in Germany a thousand years ago that somehow merged with the worship of a mythological super-being that was birthed through miraculous means 2,000 years ago. And which has now merged with the worship of commercialism and consumer consumption to enslave the human population into believing that the only way to truly love someone is to buy them expensive gifts they don’t need and won’t ever use.
