That’s because they are supposed to be professional chefs vs Master Chef when the contestants are people from all different professions.
Yep, I actually love his show “Kitchen Nightmares.” Sometimes I don’t blame him for losing his temper, and being blunt with his critique. Some of the people he tries to help are kinda rude, or nuts.
Oh man, ever seen the notorious “Amy’s Baking Company” episode? Many viewers questioned if that was real, it was so crazy, and after the episode aired went there themselves to see the crazyness. So it oddly got their bad restaurant some publicity, and notoriety.
I actually felt bad for Gordon going through that place. (And that poor girl they fired. Even Gordon thought that was low, and was nice to her.)
Edited
yea and traveling around the world and helping people, hotels and resturants :3
He’s a cool dude. Despite his famous temper, he’s actually alot nicer then people think. (Especially, helping failing restaurants, and such.)
I love Gordon Ramsay:3
Ah, I didn’t notice him, yet I noticed the Link pony in the previous ep’. I love the pop culture ponies.

I’m guessing it’s emphasizing the “unexpected” part.
Yup, and that’s why I’m hooked on his stuff. He has no grey zone.
This is why I love the guy, if he is yelling at you then you deserve it, if your good he will help and complement you for getting better.
Its very interesting to watch Ramsey between Kitchen Nightmares (both UK and US versions), Hells Kitchen, and Masterchef.
HK is purposely there as “The Gordon Ramsay Yelling Show”. They pull 4-6 “good” chefs, 8 mediocere ones, and then 2 nutcases which someone tries to keep in the game as long as possible; this seems to give maximum yelling time during the first 10-some episodes, and then you’ve actually got an investment in the final 4. It’s a very physiologically-tuned show, and there’s little about it beyond showing what happens when you put terrible chefs behind a master one to get things done. US KN is the same way - it’s geared for maximum drama (Amy’s Baking notwithstanding), though he is a bit more caring and helpful here.
When you flip to Masterchef, he rarely yells unless its RAAAAAAW, and is as encouraging as possible. The UK KN are the same way - he wants to help their people but will yell at them if they’re being obnoxiously dense about improving; the better ones are where he and the chefs gel and they come out with something better at the end.
@ROTHY
He plays up the extremes of his character when he does shows in the US. The shows in the UK are more like how he actually is, I’m guessing.
I wouldn’t doubt it, the man just enjoys his food.
To be fair, most of the contestants on his show deserve to be yelled at for their dumb mistakes and corner cutting.
Reaction of the year, ladies and gentlemen.
