I say that we should replace Obama with Ted Cruz in this picture, since it’s his 24-hour long speech on how Socialised Medicine is “evil” that shut us down in the first place.

Doubtful they’ll get anything other than a bunch of paychecks, since it’s something like a 97% re-election chance here (unless you die in office or something, then that number drops to zero because you must be at least 25% alive to be a congressman in this country it seems).

The cancer kid hating Ried, and his Handler Obama yes. Yajust need to replace Boehner with Fenstein. FTW. But the Republitards that voted yes tonight will get their comeuppance next year!

They do have a choice, among them: Research the claims by candidates rather than taking them at face value; Vote in party primaries to counter the extremist voters that send crazies to the general election; And support electoral reform initiatives to change conditions that enable this wreckless behavior from politicians, among other things. But I guess critical thinking by voters on policy is asking for too much…

Also, as a gov’t employee who was furloughed not by my own making, but because the politicians who set our budgets are too busy grandstanding instead, why should I get hit upside the head by Derpy? “Including the whole fucking government” would mean lashing at plenty people in gov’t who wanted to do anything but be dragged in this mess.

I agree completely; political parties are a bad idea, they polarize the public and force them to choose sides. I have both Liberal and Conservation views but I must decide what views are more important and side with the respective party and therefore must compromise. It’s a stupid and broken system for sure but then again that’s politics is all about.

Too many people here are partisan bias. They’ll vote for whoever’s in their party. Plus it doesn’t help that our system is based on the idea that the voters must be educated and well informed. Sadly, we know this isn’t the case for a huge chunk of the voting population. I’m thinking we would’ve been better off having a no-party system. That way people would actually do their homework on the candidates instead of blindly voting based on party. But that’s just my opinion.

Like they have a choice? It’s either dick #1 or dick #2. Plus the average American voter is so easily brainwashed by propaganda that they will vote for anyone with a good enough campaign, even Romney and Dubya.
