I have an older CRT monitor. Can’t afford a new flatscreen. I think if you had used a lighter color text in the dark word balloons would have helped. I’m of the belief that reading a comic should be as seamless as possible. It’s already enough I can’t read them on Derpibooru without using the view and zoom control.

I’m guessing it’s the tag implication system striking again, assuming “cheerilight” because Cheerilee and Twilight Sparkle are in the same image.
You’re right about the colors. Still when you reduce the text to fit in the wordy ones the text can’t be read without zooming in. I don’t even see the point in using colored word balloons. And inconsistent text sizes? Well I guess I’m being picky about it having read comics for years.

I’m not having any trouble, but then again, I’m enjoying a rather comfortably-roomy monitor (widthwise).

It’s actually a light purple text in a darker purple word balloon. Are you sure your monitor is set correctly?
