Description
This OC character, Ben Mare belongs to an author and a friend: JusSonic. He is Twilight’s true love, and Nyx’s adopted father. I’m amazed by his personality, characterization and relationship with his family, friends and even loved one. He is one of some OCs I considered the best.

Screw Flash, I ship this OC with Twilight!

Ah, shoot, I get it. Due to me talking like this, I’m in danger of blowing your cover. Well, I don’t really want to blow your cover, so I guess I’ll leave. Good luck ridiculing overzealous bad OC fanboys from within! ^_ ^
P.S. Leave me alone!
First of all, I’m not making bad OC fans look silly, I’m merely defending them. Second, there can also be good OCs. And third, it’s not me being a troll, it’s YOU.
Actually, I really do appreciate the work you’re doing here, Mr. Troll. I know you likely don’t receive much appreciation for your efforts, and when you do, you can’t acknowledge it properly without breaking character, but I’d like to extend my thanks anyway. So, thank you!
After all, while I can certainly say all I want that a character is poorly written or is a mary sue or whatnot, that mockery is nothing compared to the sort of mockery that you’re generating against those OCs. Day in and day out, you stick to the “overzealous bad OC fanboy” persona with a passion, doing an excellent job of being a caricature of a belligerent fan who vehemently denies that the OC they’re defending is a poorly-written mess. Acting like an exaggerated caricature of someone is the highest form of mockery, and you’ve done a superb job of crafting that caricature. I commend you for your dedication to it. Excellent work!
By doing what you’re doing and making bad OC fans look absolutely silly, you’re helping to break down their ability to defend those bad OCs from the criticism they deserve. And hopefully, if those bad OCs get mocked enough, their creators and fans will perhaps realize that supporting them is a lost cause, and move on to a different OC. An OC that’s better than the previous one. One that’s better written, and has more relatable characterization, and isn’t blatantly overpowered.
So really, when you think about it, you’re encouraging the less-experienced members of the community to move forward and leave blatantly bad OCs behind. You’re encouraging growth and progress! The work you’re doing is truly invaluable.
It’s comforting to see your replies, full of fake vitriol, because it reminds me that there are people out there that are truly dedicated to fighting the good fight. So, thanks again for your work, Mr. Troll. Thank you. You’re a true friend and ally. ^_ ^
That was sarcasm, wasn’t it?
Well hey! If it isn’t my favorite troll! How’s it hangin’? Still keeping up the “fanatical bad OC fanboy” persona? Awesome. Keep up the good work! ^_ ^
For the last time, Ben Mare is NOT a Gary Stu or Mary Sue! And I will not tolerate any more mockery of this fan character!
Oh believe me, I know that he wasn’t actually created to attract mockery. If that were the case, his creator would actually consider the mockery to be a sign of success on his part, and wouldn’t try to suppress it.
What I meant was that it’s hard to believe that a character that hits so many different Mary Sue tropes could be created by accident. That’s exactly what happened, but it still feels unreal.
FYI, Ben Mare wasn’t created to “attract mockery”, he was merely created for entertainment.
No worries, I understand. A troll can’t exactly admit that they’re trolling without spoiling the entire joke. And believe me, I don’t want this joke to be spoiled. I mean seriously, Ben Mare seems like he was created specifically to attract mockery.
Though I suppose it’s possible that his creator is young and doesn’t know any better. We were all there at one point, creating really poorly-written wish-fulfillment self-insert characters who were really powerful and who hung out with and were admired by all of our favorite characters (I definitely went through that phase). It’s perfectly normal.
Eventually, this will be an important lesson for them later on in life about character writing and accepting constructive criticism. Well, hopefully. >_>
Would you just stop it?! Ben Mare is an awesome OC and this is not a trolling comment! I have even gotten used to him.
Heh. It’s delightful how difficult it is to differentiate between snarky trolls and actual fanatical fans of bad OCs (though I’m decently sure you’re the former. If so, keep up the good work ^_ ^)
All in all, it’s an excellent example of Poe’s Law.
Oh just shut up! Ben Mare is the best OC to me, and he deserves more love and fanart, maybe even videos!
It’s kinda hard to leave something alone when it practically begs to be mocked.
Oh, you just shut your bucking mouth and leave this OC alone!
**Gives another sagely nod **
Indeed, your words ring true. Very wise. I think I’ll follow your example.
Two broken legs and a concussion is better than this OC.
**Nods sagely **
Good move, methinks.
Oh crap, not this thread again!
jumps out window
Heh, I see what you’re doing there. Very funny. ^_ ^
