As insane as /mlp/ can be, I doubt anyone would actually carry through on a death threat against this guy, but vandalism and destruction of property might not be out of the question. I don’t blame him for being concerned.

As someone whom has received death threats in real life to my face, all I can do is roll my eyes. Look, 99% of the human race, especially those whom live in western society are neither crazy nor desperate enough to carry out such threats.
 
This is not me defending people whom give out death threats, it’s more that people should realise that it’s highly unlikely that anything will come of them.

What he said, in and of itself, wasn’t rude. The fact that he included Lauren Faust’s Twitter handle in it, so that it showed up in her feed, was rude, though he said it was an accident that happened because of habit. If you believe him, what /mlp/ is doing is way out of line; if you don’t believe him, /mlp/‘s actions still strike me as excessive, particularly publishing his phone number.
 
So yeah, this is one reason I’ve been posting anonymously more often on brony sites: I don’t want to risk the wrath of the wingnut section of the fandom, especially since I don’t have the pseudo-anonymity of a big city or a common name to obfuscate matters.

It’s sadly how the internet work. There is many peoples who make comment like that everyday and even on Faust account, just our regular hater fanbase mades tons of them when our fandom started being recognize, but once in a while the internet pick an unlucky one that will receive disproportionate retaliation for the most futile of thing.

This is a common phenomenon on the internet. Be a dick > Provoke massive backlash > Milk the nastiest responses for sympathy > People forget you’re a dick.

I think I love this guy, one post of his without malice has rustled more jimmies than all the trolling attempts from anyone else.

There was another thread here where he came in and explained how bad he felt. He seemed really sincere and described using Twitter mentions out of habit, and said he would change that.

He’s kind of being a dick about his mistake making people cross, though. There’s no humility here, just annoyance that people aren’t seeing things the way he wants them to. This includes the person he unintentionally offended.

All I know is that all of this rush to the protection of an industry professional isn’t going to help anyone.

If that was me I would have invited the midget to eat pizza with me, maybe while watching EG, I figure it would probably be a nice reprieve from his regular work.  
Plus it would be hilarious to see what gets sent next.
