I have those exact feelings, when i used to do Sonic fanfiction i had fun trying to make creative backstories for characters, sure they sucked but they were fun to do an that’s what matters.

I don’t see why some people hate OCs. You can’t just act like there aren’t any ponies in Equestria other than the Mane 6, secondary characters and recurring background extras. :/

I for one love OCs. :3 They are complete blank slates that the creator can fill with whatever they please, and sometimes they are REALLY damn interesting. There are stories to tell with them, and they are not restricted by established canon facts and personalities.
