I usually never smile. But that changes when I watch ponies, I just cannot stop. It just makes me happy, and has definitely made me a better person.

Mr. Self-Destruct
I wouldn’t say it was a BIG part of my life myself. But then, it always lifted my day up for me when things are dull/grey/down/blue. And it always made me smile no matter how many times ive seen an episode. So it must count for something. ;)

I pretty much second professor_of_hoers. The great show bit, not the Celestia bit. Because everyone knows Applejack is best pony. XD

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

This show has made a massive impact on my outlook on life, how I spend my time, and value the people I know.

Shortly after watching the show in Feb ‘11 and becoming hooked, my family and I became homeless following the landlords suddenly demanding that we leave within a week. We wound up staying in the home of one of my father’s friends, and I spent six weeks spending each night on the floor worrying about the future.

Ponies got me through that period, I remained cheerful and occupied. I spent my time watching the show and participating in the fanbase, soon enough I found a happy place I could go to when life was being a bastard. After those six weeks, we finally got a new home and moved in, and have been here since.

The show and the characters all connected with me and cheered me up when I needed a reason to smile. No more was I waking up in the morning expecting the worst to happen, instead, I was seeing the morning as the start to another day for something great to happen.

By the end of last year, I started drawing ponies. I bought a tablet and decided to actually practice a hobby that didn’t involve just playing games for hours on end. Now, I’ve got pretty good at it, and I’m happy to give back to the community that has always been there to cheer me up, and to show my gratitude to the show for pulling me out of cynicism.

To be fair, the show did make me more open to listening to heavy metal (long story).
And I did like the diversity of females in the show since the ones in my area… are less so.
I also got this “sorta crush” on Applejack too, but that tends to happen in some fiction I enjoy.

I don’t know about you,but after that show i started giving more value to people around me,even thought some of them don’t feel the same with me.

Oh, I did fall head over heels in love with Celestia though. There’s that. :)

Then again, I’m the kind of guy that would rather go to one of those Vocaloid holo concerts because I value fiction and impressive suspensions of disbelief over the mundane.

I feel pretty much a mix of Zombie_Trotsky and professor_of_hoers’s opinions.

I don’t think the show is that close to me, and sometimes it feels a bit too idealistic (more fighting and nightmare fuel wouldn’t hurt), but it is a really neat show, and so far my second favorite fiction.

If this was a big part of my life (and I wasn’t a staff member), I’d be full of bitterness and despair at how shallow and empty my life was.

I’ve no testimonials of suddenly becoming a better person or finding my attitude become improved or anything of that nature but it is a great show that I love and I spend a large amount of time watching it and looking up fan content.

So, it’s pretty great.
