Honestly, while I think the Soarin x Braeburn flopped due to (ahem) “certain unfortunately-timed political events”, the G5 crossover DEFININITELY didn’t flop. However, it didn’t do too great, either. It was, at least, a decent success.
I think the G5 crossover didn’t do as good as it could’ve done because Tamers actually changed the video title after the video went live. I get why he did that (the joke-off wasn’t a large part of the video), but Tamers should’ve just used the video’s actual title from the start. People who were searching for “Pinkie Pie Has A Joke-Off” (the original video title was something like that) will now get no results.
UPDATE: As if by magic, Tamers actually DID change the video name back to “Pinkie Pie Participates In A Joke-Off” (I was close with my intital guess!) recently. I think we should alias “my little pony: pinkie pie participates in a joke-off” into the current tag. I have no idea if Tamers will change it again, but aliasing both tags into one should help a lot.

Those new episodes are all pretty great if you ask me. Very fun to watch Tamers juggle all those new ideas in one crazy fart universe. And seeing him put G5 and G3 in the G4 world is something I never thought of and I’m really curious about how he’ll work with these ponies. (And He did it almost exclusively with things from early episodes, no less. It makes one feel like we’re back in ten years before.)

Indeed, and apparently it’s what Tamers has been doing for the past few years or so. Only started making pony animations since around half a year ago.

What? The newest soarinxbraeburn episode was killer! And the g5 episode bad either in my honest opinion. But the amount of tension Hearth’s warming in Manehattan left in the end, while already being a great EP, is really something I look forward to. Ah anyways, gotta love tamers. I haven’t felt this hyped about pony stuff in a looooooong long time.
