Very interesting… very. The cover shows the Mane 6 as G5 ponies with no signs of old age on them and it looks like they are lying in something magical, Twilight seemed to glow with magic as she lies with them on the grass. It seems to imply that these may be in the Elsewhere after their death, with the possible exception of Twilight who may have been trapped there after being taken out of the physical world along with the active magic.

Maybe they witnessed the moment when Sunny talked about friendship and reconciliation, and gave her the alicorn powers, they could be the intelligence behind the Unity Crystals. And as an alicorn, Twilight could possibly come out, but it’s more likely she’ll wait for Sunny’s ascension. Which can happen when the whole world thought Sunny was dead, as a source of inspiration used by the team behind G5 can hint at a sad period when the heroine was “dead”. She will return with the Mane 6’s blessing as a 100% alicorn - and as a princess.

We can only hope for this. Their legacy continues - with the Mane 5.
