Oh that goes for every big internet fandom, nobody hates a show, video game or movie franchise more than the very fans who “support” it.
I put the blame more on Hasbro, who didn’t think and plan accordingly with this generation. Even I hate to admit it, post-ANG was when things really fell down. When i watched MYM, I realized it is even better when you take away the G4 mindset and see it as its own universe. However, the G4 references reminding me that it’s in the same world sort of takes that feeling away unfortunately. I myself stopped watching TYT because of the whack schedule. I do hope G6 brings that positive magic back, but given how Hasbro is doing rn, we may not see it for a while :/

For real, I feel about it the same way I feel about G4 - both have their definite flaws (because nothing is ever perfect) but I love both dearly.
Precisely why those burgeoning fim fans really struck quite the sore spot. Everything they’ve experienced through G5 was simply all for nothing. What started as gaining fandom momentum, has surely nosedived in rapid succession. Going forward until G6 occurs, I doubt they’ll trust their judge of brony character ever again.
Not even close. Hasbro got everything about G5 wrong and chances are Hasbro just changed focus and made G5 mlp targeted towards 8-year-old girls again so mlp’s time in the spotlight is officially over with the end of G4’s fim.

I know, right? Talk about borderline cutthroat recipe for disaster. We should learn to treasure G5 more often, no matter how lackluster the series sequel might sound to anyone.
