Okay, I give. I swear it looked completely natural to me when I first saw it, but the more I think about it and look at it… you are right, it should (at most) be tilted half as much as it is.
Except this is a 180 degree rotation.
IF we are to accept previous art by other artists as canon on how to properly rotate magical marks on magical talking miniature equines, when they are made bipedal, then you are absolutely correct, and the mark shouldn’t be tilted by more than about 40 degrees.
This is very simple/stylized art though, and a 90 degree hip rotation becomes a 90 degree rotation of the mark.
Look at the “bipedal” tag. See how far the marks rotate.
It isn’t. She is walking upright. Turn it in your head.
