While that is true, you can also enjoy your adulthood by doing the things you enjoy like your interests. Just because your childhood is over doesn’t mean you don’t have to stop having fun and let responsibilities overtake you

Basically because I can and I know that it is within what fits in your abilities to know how to read or make a joke.

What are you even talking about?
In fact, for that matter, what were you even talking about when you edited your previous comment right after I responded to the original? I can’t even tell whether you’re talking about OP’s inspirational little platitude or my response, it’s like you’re talking about two different things! You probably don’t need to go around preaching about the perks of literacy until you can actually demonstrate it. That said, what good does it do to internalize a message after the window of opportunity is gone? This isn’t just useless, it’s discouraging!

Do you really think it’s for kids? I mean, I understand the message as an adult and this can strike a chord with someone who has experienced abuse in their childhood.
The good thing about the written word is to internalize a message through reading, a very clear example is your comment.
