Oh and I think they have a military attache, like Al was, but this guy was a soldier in Vietnam that served with Sam’s brother and who Sam leapt into one time. Or at least I think I remember seeing that in some promo stuff.
@JP
Yeah, but it’s supposed to be a continuation more than a reboot. Like, it is set in the same universe as the original and takes place something like 20 years after Sam Beckett disappeared. I haven’t seen it, so I don’t know much more than that. What I’m more objected to, from what I’ve seen from the trailers, is that it seems like they spend time switching between the leaper and the people in the lab.
In the original, we hardly ever saw anything from Sam’s time, mostly it was just referenced by Al. Then again, in the original, they were slow to show anything and kind of built up the backstory and the lab as they went along, with us learning about things at the same time as Sam remembered them and/or Al had to tell him for some reason.
But, now that we already know all of that stuff, it’s not as big of a draw to drip-feed bits about the show’s “current day” set up.
Rainbow Dash doing that thing where you forget that the show you liked as a kid you liked because you were a KID at the time and it was aimed at you. Time has passed, the world is different, and a reboot of the show is not aimed at you as an adult but the current generation of kids. So, yes, it’s not going to be the same. Scoots liked it? Then they did what they meant to do.

Remade or revived, something like that. A new cast of characters, and they’re apparently looking for Sam.

Reminds me when they made a reboot of Powerpuff Girls, which I will swear does not exist
They remade Quantum Leap?
