This is my personal opinion, but I don’t think that they have actual birthdays. I guess the fans can create birthdays (as they did in that original EqD link that you posted from 11 years ago), but in all actuality the characters were ‘born’ at the same time (or at least the main cast was), and that was when the show first aired its inaugural episode. Anything past that, including information sent by the original showrunner (who, by the way, only really made a single season of the nine season series) is completely fictitious and thus has no bearing with the real world timeline.

I say that, not just for MLP, but for any TV show, really. Frankly, the MLP fandom is the only one I know of that actually celebrates the fictional birthdays of characters in a series. I used to be in the Star Wars fandom before (dating back to before Disney bought Star Wars in 2013), and I have never seen anyone try to create a birthday for, say, Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia. So to me the fact that the brony community does that is just strange to me. I like celebrating the characters and the show, but I don’t act like any of the characters are real. And I definitely don’t celebrate fictional birthdays.

The writer of Hearthbreakers also testified to their birthdays here: “@FaustXXXVII it comes down to your definition of twins for non-humans, e.g., to me, puppy litter = siblings not twins.” And here he said: “@FaustXXXVII Marble/Pinkie not identical twins, if they were I’d call them twins. But they’re not, so how about “sametime sisters!” Both retrieved from here.

Marble is technically a few minutes younger than Pinkie, but I think it’s close enough. :)

Additionally, based on The Elements of Harmony Vol. II guidebook,
Limestone Pie is Pinkie Pie’s oldest sister, and the family business is her passion. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind if she must, while Marble is Pinkie Pie’s baby sister and the demure pony of the family. She prefers to let her older siblings do all the talking.

I don’t think fictional characters have birthdays. Just days where they are celebrated (Fluttershy Day, Rainbow Dash Day, etc)
