Y’know, about five years ago, I read a rumor that Espio was going to have his own game.
Now that I remember it, I think it’d be kinda neat. Sonic the Hedgehog meets Metal Gear Solid?
Either that, or another fighting game. I can’t tell you how much I want a sequel to Sonic the Fighters. They’ve got enough characters to make a decent roster.
Yeah, I guess so.
But they haven’t really added any new characters since Sonic ‘06.
Unleashed, Colors, Generations…. nothing new at all.
Of course, there were two new ones on the handhelds(Marine and Shade) but they haven’t appeared any more since then, so I don’t know about them.
Plus, it’s likely Shade is non canon now, along with the rest of Sonic Chronicles.
I looked it up. It was “presumably” released in the US. shrug You’re probably right though. Still, kinda wish they’d stop adding characters and give some characterization to the older ones.
I mean, could you imagine a rivalry between Rouge and Nack or Knuckles and Bark? That’d be awesome.
Of course in the comics.
Characters get many more appearances in the comics compared to the games, regardless of who they are.
But I’m pretty sure the arcade game he’s originally from never even came to the US, so Ray wouldn’t be very recognized, if at all, by those who never seen the comics.
Him? Not really. He’s been featured in the comics a lot more than Bean and Bark have.
I remember them.
And not just because of the Comics.
…I think.
Now a really obscure character is Ray the Flying Squirrel.
Nobody remembers Bean and Bark.
At least you know who Mighty is.
Espio and Mighty are from the old era.
Espio’s the only one of the two that’s reappeared in the recent games.

All these new characters, meanwhile, the original cast had almost no characterization to begin with.

Also, Mighty’s a pretty cool dude.
