If I had a nickel for every time I drew a stupid picture that featured Discord quoting Homer Simpson, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
Seriously though, you can all picture this exchange happening between these two, right? Tell me I’m not the only one who sees it.
All that is subjective no matter what you say. He did all those things because he thought it was for the greater good. You can’t force anyone to hate what you hate.
Holy fuck, now I know how Troy must’ve felt. I’m unsubscribing from this thread.

Yes he shouldn’t have done it. But Discord betrayed them in s4 because they didn’t treat him like a friend. In didn’t understand him. Even during the betrayal u can see key moments of remorse. Tirek offered to be his friend and to be able to do what he wants.
what is the fun in making sense?
His mistakes are deliberately cruel. For example, I remember in the end of the Season 4 how he betrayed his so-called friends, Twilight and company with Lord Tirek, when Twilight and the rest of the ponies trusted him and thought he was a hope for the new villain in turn. But in the end, Tirek betrayed Discord too, assimilating his magic, and discarding him like nothing. Seriously? Discord is learning how to be a better person and trusting in a villain with clearly hostile intentions while leaving who supposedly are his friend behind? Discord is not that innocent how do you wanna paint him, he’s not like a little child who cannot distinguish the evil from the good. If that were true, then he wouldn’t be so conscious about his actions and the chaos he causes, which is more like a fun party than a real threat for him.

Reading your arguments, I remember some guy once said all the Discord’s actions are justified because it’s just his nature, implying somehow that make things better. But the flaw with that declaration is, we can assume the Discord’s nature is cahotic and unestable, so, can you tell me how the hell did he magically quit that nature to become more intelligent and rational, to emulate perfectly the arrogant and dangerous Grogar’s personaltiy? This makes Discord EVEN MORE dangerous, because all his magical powers are incredibly superior, but he can use them in an organized way more than only a chaotic way, like in past seasons. This makes me wonder, what if the rest of the villains choosed to remain loyal to Grogar and give him the magic bell? What if Discord had the bell in his hands? Would he destroy the whole Equestria, or even the whole planet just because he was bored? … I’m just suprised how there’s still remain people who think Discord did nothing wrong and the end of the series was perfect.

DWK put it better than we can but to make a long story short, despite developing a connection to Fluttershy, he’s learned nothing about the consequences of his meddling and manipulating. He STILL screws with everyone to a detriment, still acts like the smartest guy in the room, still fails to live up to it, and when called out on it, he either leaves to be sad or chokes out an apology if he absolutely must.
Honestly, if I had to choose between hanging out with you or Discord, I’d hang out with him because you guys are prone to disregarding how turning him back to stone would make his fans feel. Why are you guys so unforgiving? I also feel like your insistence upon turning Discord back to stone has some selfishness in it because of the disregard for his fans I mentioned.

Frankly, given the entire last season’s events were all his fault, it’d be entirely reasonable to put him back in stone for another millennium.
