I wanted to write a complete, ups and downs pony fan story. The idea at the heart of the story was something I thought of years ago. But expanding it into a full, ups and downs story isn’t easy. At first, I thought it would be good to let the plot develop with everyone’s questions. However, I haven’t received ten questions so far on tumblr…and I can’t think of a satisfactory specific plot.
So, I need your help! I set up a DC server, if anyone wants to decide the development of the plot with me, please join me
You can find the currently completed part on Tumblr
You do you, but you should invest in your own backups. For all the talk about safety and security in the cloud, that’s really for paying customers.
Edited
Thanks for your suggestion, for now this work is still in ask blog format, comics are a backup option when no one asks
Haha, thank you, to be honest, this woona painting didn’t take me long, I didn’t expect it to achieve better results than the Luna painting that I worked hardest on before
You’ve got over 300 upvotes as I write this, so you’re doing something right. ;)
Maybe I’m misunderstanding things but if you’re trying to produce a comic: don’t use Tumblr. Once you get past 50-ish pages, Tumblr’s archiving system becomes worthless. Just look up a webcomic system and go from there.
I don’t think Twitter is very good at looking at a comic archive. And the further back in time you want to go, the harder it gets. That’s why having a dedicated website is the best way to publish an ongoing webcomic.
Haha, I didn’t even know my painting was in Equestria Daily
omg! You’re right, I finally understand why some works have links in the corners
@Dogman15
Fimfiction is fine but as WutongTree said, it’s an ask blog, not a traditional fanfic. The entire format would have to be changed. Do you guys think switching from Tumblr to Twitter would be enough? Without the need to switch from illustrated comic ask blog to a novel? I don’t want to propose something that requires a lot of work and doesn’t guarantee a boost in popularity.
While I don’t have an easy solution to your problem I thought about it some more and there’s one thing that I think you can improve with (relatively) little effort. That thing is making sure all the art and posts related to this blog have a link written in them that links back to it. For example this image is excellent as a reaction image and has potential to be used in forums and other places. It would be a great idea to put “ask-nightmareandprincess.tumblr.com” in it’s corner, so that everyone who sees it somewhere on the internet and would want to see more of this could follow the link back to your tumblr. Same thing here on derpi - you’ve put the link in the description, but not in the actual “source” section. A lot of people don’t read descriptions, especially not for links to the source material. Your art even ended up in this Drawfriend post on Equestria Daily as pic #27 and even they link back to here instead to your tumblr.
Again I wish you the best and hope your blog can still bounce back in popularity.
Thank you.I should really try different platforms. It’s a pity that my writing is much worse than my drawing.I will try
thank you so much for your suggestion! At first I didn’t think about writing the story as a novel, because my writing skills were pretty poor. I want to use ask blog or comic
If only I could have had access to ponies a few years earlier
How sad, but I’ll do my best to get it done. Once I had a lot of stories I wanted to write, but now only this plan about luna has been kept.
The popular get more popular and the new guys get no traction. It’s not a fandom thing, it’s just how things work. Same thing happens in the real world. I could invent the cure for cancer but if I don’t have the funding or support to get the word out, as far as the world is concerned the cure for cancer doesn’t exist.
Thank you for creating fanart and fanfics for the fandom. Sorry to hear you’re struggling with viewer imput. That’s not something I have an answer to, sadly. Many artists are in the same boat as you - for some reason a lot of fans no longer look for new content and just stick to the older, long running ones. That’s especially true for tumblr ask blogs, they almost never get traction nowadays. I wish you the best, but I have no idea how to help.
But the Luna fan stories I write are about to “stop”.
Yes, Woona time will never stop.
