you’re better off using Tor or nothing at all.
Tor which conceals your traffic and identity by routing your traffic through three different nodes (an entry node, middle node, and exit node), and Tor nodes are ran by many volunteers as opposed to a single organization.
VPNs are outclassed by Tor in almost every way possible (except for torrenting) and shouldn’t be used.
Does that sound like someone who works for a big tech company who hates VPNs? Big tech companies hate Tor worse because Tor is even harder to break than a VPN. You sound like someone who was paid to shill ExpressVPN, and if that’s true, I wouldn’t trust anything from you or your dad.

Truth be told, we did (or at least AngryProgRockBrony did) and it didn’t work out.
But I won’t discuss the matter further here. It really isn’t appropriate given the image is less about VPNs and more about a sexy anthro pony who happens to be wearing a shirt that advertises a VPN.

You sound like an employee for a big tech company, the type of companies that despise VPNs due to them not being able to track users using them.
Naturally I don’t know if you are or not, but for that reason I don’t trust anything you or your ‘security researchers’ say.
And yes, I hid your messages. And no, it isn’t a ‘false’ sense of security, it is legitimate (though it isn’t good for big tech).

Of course you wouldn’t since you don’t listen to actual security researchers (who know more about VPNs and networking than your dad) like the ones who wrote all of those links I sent you yesterday, but you probably just hid my messages. If you want to keep using ExpressVPN (which may or may not be a honeypot and we’ll never know for sure), go ahead. Enjoy your false sense of privacy and security.

VPNs aren’t useless. They do prevent larger corporations from knowing your local IP address (and thus getting a bunch of information from that).
The one that I would recommend is ExpressVPN, though. Sure, it’s quite a bit more expensive than Surfshark, but it has much better security protection and improved connection speeds, as well.
In other words, you get what you pay for.

VPNs are useless. Sexy cartoon horses won’t change my mind (and even if they did, there are less bad VPNs than Surfshark).
