Izzy’s behavior where she apparently doesn’t understand personal space and just takes whatever shiny thing she sees for “Unicycling” without thought for why it’s there sounds a lot like when Patrick thought that “Helping” Spongebob meant gluing him to a laundry wringer.

I’ve seen enough to see Patrick at his absolute worst, when his stupidity got so bad that everyone around him suffered needlessly because of it. And he was even apparently self-aware of it in at least one episode.

You clearly don’t watch SpongeBob if you think that’s a valid comparison.

Just because stuff from make your mark was used in tell your tails does not mean it’s going to have the same writing.
Tell your tales is still just a spin off

I’m with Derpyfan. It was always established that TYT is just played for laughs, so of course the characters are gonna be exaggerated somewhat. That doesn’t mean it’s meant to be taken seriously

The MYM special alone has already portrayed Izzy much better than in TYT, so at this point, I see no reason to be worried

Pony Life came after Friendship is Magic had already wrapped up, so it didn’t matter if they did the characters differently or horribly. It was at best secondary canon. The implications are pretty strong that TyT and MyM are connected to each other given that TyT establishes the Crystal Brighthouse and Izzy, Zipp and Pipp moving to Maretime Bay full time, among other things. So if characters are not handled well in TyT when it’s part of G5’s main canon, that doesn’t bode well for MyM going forward. And it still doesn’t excuse writing Izzy so poorly. It’s not funny watching her be turned into the equivalent of modern Patrick Star.

Watching both the special and TyT is enough to tell that the tone is different for each one. Tell your Tale is meant to be more of a goofy slice-of-life show while Make your Mark will likely be a bit more serious and story focused and as such the characters will act accordingly.

We’ve already seen this kind of contrast before with Friendship is Magic and Pony Life and chances are this won’t be any different.
