I did see the movie. I just easily forget certain words and phrases that are mentioned in said movie.
And Hitch was right and wrong at the same time. He was right in saying that everypony wouldn’t get along with each other right away. However, he was wrong in saying that the various species of pony wouldn’t get along whatsoever, and that everypony always would live in fear.
Then again, in terms of the scene, Sunny’s uncertainty makes sense. After all, Hitch was her friend. He was the only pony in Maretime Bay that she got along with. Hearing him saying that her quest to reunite all ponies is impossible must have hit her hard, even if, deep down, she knew that Hitch was wrong. And naturally Hitch himself would also learn that he was in the wrong, when he left Ponyville to find Sunny and Izzy.

Either way, here’s after quick search in the movie’s transcript (I didn’t memorize the whole thing):
Hitch: Come on, Sunny, what did you think was gonna happen? You give a little speech and what? Everypony just magically welcomes unicorns and Pegasi into Maretime Bay? You keep saying there’s nothing to be afraid of. Well, then, prove it. All of that pony unity stuff was just a foal’s bedtime story made up by your dad. Like it or not, this is the way it is and always will be. I’m the last real friend you got in this town. You really want to lose me, too?
