At first glance, I thought they were supposed to be working for tech support.
 
Just imagine someone with an Indian accent saying “Hello, my name is Sweetie Belle, how may I help you, today?”

I’ve seen a lot of mixed results.
 
Most consistent of which is that it’s surely memorable. The basis of the name may be an inside joke, the radio itself, however, is not.
 
Although I’ve never seen any suggest it’s creepy.

The name has a story behind it.
 
One day, me and my co-host SlightlyShade were talking about ponies. I forget how that came up. Anyways, he had no idea who Noteworthy was. So I went to Derpibooru, grabbed the first image I could find, and sent it to him…  
….it was mpreg. I’ve never lived that one down.
 
However, the name has a perfect amount of provocative, eye-catching, and memorability. Wnd what we’re trying to do is something that’s completely out of the norm. Something different!  
Names like Celestia or Alicorn Radio are boring, too overused.

This is just begging for a reference to that one Calvin and Hobbes strip.
