Appears to be chemistry, specifically a distillation, except the artist has made changes to the setup so that if it were copied it would not work IRL. Judging from the moonshine tag i would assume this is the step attempting to separate the methanol from the ethanol, but the current setup would just evaporate both and put them in the end flask combined.

The second step looks inspired by a soxhlet extractor but lacks anything to extract and in the current setup is purely fantasy because it would do effectively nothing.

Overall, still cool and an exceptional animation nonetheless!
