Mascot Contest - Amity Rune
Hey guys. Just stopping by really quick to upload this.
WeLoveMyLittlePony is having a contest to design their group’s mascot.
I just finished my entry here. This is Amity Rune.
I tried to make a character that was the embodiment of the fandom itself.
I chose an alicorn in this instance because I didn’t feel right picking just one of the three main pony races as the representative for the entire group. Alicorns, to me, represent all ponies equally. The strength of an Earth Pony, the flight of a Pegasus, and the magic of a Unicorn. X3 For her colors, I used subdued tints of the colors found in the MLP:FiM logo for her body, and her mane is made up of the fur colors of each of the Mane 6 and is based off of the Rainbow Key Shimmer seen throughout Season 4. Her jewels incorporate colors from the Mane 6’s cutie marks.
I think of Amity as sort of an “out-of-universe” entity. She’s the embodiment of the love fans have for MLP.
She doesn’t exist in the show, but she’s a giant fangirl and watches it and draws fanart and talks on forums. I like to imagine her having a crap ton of plushies and toys and other MLP memorabilia. XD
(On a side note, I’m getting pretty good at using the Pen Tool in PS)
