Maybe it would be for the best if the comic and show spit into two separate continuities. The comic could focus on pleasing the adult fans, and the show could focus on selling more princess toys.

Not likely. Discord is a case of too much power, not enough focus, and a selfish personality. Chrysalis is a love sucking Genghis Khan with holes and an army perfect for espionage. Even if she could be rehabilitated, which I doubt, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that Fluttershy would be the one doing it.

This is me also assuming that the show canon wouldn’t overlap with the IDW canon.
 
Basically, I’d just enjoy seeing the changelings realize that you can get more net love income by just being loveable than you can by emotional vacuum suction.

Me too, except that in my ideal world that episode would begin with Fluttershy’s attempt failing miserably and just be her crying in a fetal position for twenty minutes or so while we hear Chrysalis terrorizing Ponyville in the background.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Actually, I’d love to see some two-parter episode (Maybe a season opener or something?) where the mane 6 try to work something out with Chrysy, but she’s just downright immovable. However, even through their failed attempts, they do have some effect on the other, lesser changelings.
 
So, I wouldn’t want to see Chrysalis reformed, but I would like to see a try-and-fail attempt at doing so, and possibly some more changeling interaction.
