This has been a story idea kicking around in my mind. I doubt I’ll ever get to write that story, much as I’d like to, but I can at least draw a part from it. That’s the short description, which is probably more than people will read. :)

I guess I keep thinking of the song “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman when I thought of this picture.

The longer version:

Back in the old days Gena infiltrated several pony cities, and generally kept a low profile. One day she saw a Wonderbolts show and became obsessed with them. She found ways to follow them to multiple cities and towns, fascinated with the routines. She started to fantasize about her own ideas for routines, writing them all down as she eventually settled in a smaller town. She had a lot of ideas.

As time went on she kept writing, coming up with more complex ideas, even after she no longer needed to hide. When some routines exceeded what seemed possible for pegasi to do she did her own ‘testing’ as a pegasus, gryphon, hippogriff, and dragon, until she found solutions, learning quite a bit about the abilities of each. She’s happiest when creating these intricate dream routines. She’s always wanted to see these things performed, but she’s never dared show anyone.Besides, more than a few required a multi-species flying group, and there wasn’t one of those.

The “story’ takes place when she meets a pegasus that can geek out with her about some of these things. This throws them into a situation, but results in her sharing her dream finally (kinda where I see this drawing fitting).

Things happen later to push her dream to a possible reality, but with that comes what that dream demands from her.
