I assume that ‘nerdy Sunny’ is the same pony as the ‘glasses Sunny’ that Background Pony #74A4 mentioned in the very first comment. As such, I agree with you on this. Hopefully we get to see Sunny wearing those glasses in the upcoming series.
It is possible we could see it in the TV series.
