Description
Two weeks after they visited Central Park in New York City, Sunny Starscout and her friends are currently visiting the next location: Honolulu, Hawaii, where the tropical islands, beaches, and palm trees calmly kick in.
“Aww, look at the palm trees!” Pipp Petals told her friends as she took out her phone and take pictures. “It feels so nice and warm out today.” Zipp Storm said in a rather deeper-calm voice as she flapped out her wings so she can let the wind come through, enjoying today’s weather in Honolulu.
“Visiting this place is like visiting Miami.” Izzy Moonbow said to herself, comparing Honolulu with Miami for reasons. “Oh, why’s that?” Sunny Starscout asked her, wondering how and where she got that idea. “Because, the weather and temperature are similar, and they are hot and warm every month, every year.” She told Sunny Starscout, believing the fact that Honolulu and Hawaii are almost the same two cities.
“This is the so far the best place in the United States I have ever visited in my life.” Hitch Trailblazer said with thrill, spinning around like the usual way ponies do it.
The group stopped for a moment and turned around, looking at the beach filled with people and also surfboards. “There’s surfboards at the beach?” Zipp Storm questioned, noticing they don’t exist in her universe for whatever reason. “I’d race against you in this competition!” Pipp Petals told her, wanting participate in a surf competition against her own sister.
“What we are missing is that this place be serving tropical drinks at this place.” Sunny Starscout reminded her friends as Honolulu hands out drink towards the people every day. “I’ll be happy to drink one of those.” Izzy Moonbow said as an agreement.
“Aloha!” Someone said behind the group, which was actually a man wearing sunglasses like several other citizens and also people visiting the city. Then, he passed out flower necklaces for Sunny Starscout and her friends, with everyone but Hitch Trailblazer liking it as they tried it on.
“What the-?!” Hitch Trailblazer said in disgust, already unhappy about wearing anything extra around him aside from his sheriff badge. “Oh, you are cute…!” Pipp Petals said with a soft voice.
The mares laughed at Hitch Trailblazer wearing a flower necklace around his neck, making him look embarrassed. “You’re the new Fluttershy!” They said, angering him even further. “I’m not Fluttershy!” He shouted, protesting that he is nothing like Fluttershy.
“Of course you are.” Izzy Moonbow told Hitch Trailblazer, who was still annoyed from the comments about him being the new Fluttershy. “The people from Derpibooru told us about it.” Sunny Starscout whispered into Zipp Storm’s ear.
Suddenly, the girls stopped talking about Hitch Trailblazer being the same as Fluttershy, making him look happy again as he wasn’t in the mood for the mares bringing up that topic all day. “Please, let’s not bring this up again…” He said while feeling somewhat mad.
“Come with me.” Zipp Storm told Izzy Moonbow, as she followed her towards the drink stand, in which had a line filled with people.
“I wasn’t expecting my sister going with Izzy Moonbow.” Pipp Petals told Sunny and Hitch, feeling curious about why her sister would take Izzy Moonbow in her place for some drink. “And I thought you and Zipp would be surfing in a competition together.” Hitch Trailblazer told Pipp Petals, remembering from she what she said wasn’t exactly true.
“But can you surf with me instead, please?” Pipp Petals asked Hitch Trailblazer, as she wanted somepony else in a surfing competition against her. “Oh, no. I’m not surfing against you.” He replied, rejecting her offer about surfing with her, possibly because his badge would get wet.
“I’m in!” Sunny Starscout said, agreeing with Pipp Petals’ offer, as she wasn’t too afraid to swim.
“Right!” Pipp Petals said, as she and Sunny Starscout prepared themselves for some surfing.
The two mares walked up to the man that had gave them flower necklaces not too long ago. “Excuse me, but can you give us two surfboards?” Pipp Petals interrupted the man, asking for some surfboards that she and Sunny Starscout can ride on. “Okay, hold a sec.” He said, as he tried and look for the right surfboards the two ponies can try.
A few seconds later, the man took out two surfboards, one looking light green, and another looking orange. “So, what do you think about these?” He asked the mares, giving them the two surfboards he suggested himself.
“These look very cool!” Sunny Starscout said as she looked bashful about the surfboard she was given. “Neat!” Pipp Petals said, also liking the surfboard she was given.
“Okay, time for an announcement.” The man said, as he rushed over towards the podium, grabbing the microphone.
The man started his announcement, saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, attention, please! We have two volunteers who are surfing for this year’s “Annual Surfing Contest: 2021”! Today’s contestants are: Sunny Starscout and Pipp Petals!”
The crowd eventually started clapping with excitement as they watched the two mares walk up on the podium, who are being admired by everyone in front of them.
“Thank you, thank you, everybody.” Sunny Starscout told the audience, as she was happy about participating in a surfing competition for the first time. “It is honor that me and my friend, Pipp, are taking part in this competition this year.” She added.
“Surfing isn’t my style, but this time, this will be an exception and one-time only.” Pipp Petals told the audience filled with people, participating in surfing just once.
The man told the audience, saying, “The winner will get the gold trophy depending on which mare is the last standing.”
The audience clapped with excitement yet again, as they all hoped that one the two mares would win 2021’s “Annual Surfing Contest”, taking place in Hawaii.
“Alright, Pipp, you’re going down!” Sunny Starscout told Pipp Petals, as she knew that she would win the competition. “We’ll see about that.” She replied back, as she may be small, but it wouldn’t stop her from losing the surfing contest.
“I gotta make my run.” Hitch Trailblazer said, fleeing the rest while grabbing Pipp Petals’ phone to warn Zipp Storm and Izzy Moonbow about the competition.
Hitch Trailblazer ran towards the other two mares and said, “Girls, Sunny and Pipp are having a surfing competition! You gotta check it out!” “Really?” Zipp Storm responded in shock, hearing the people far away from the three ponies cheering for Sunny Starscout and Pipp Petals.
“Oh, man, I was gonna surf with her.” Izzy Moonbow said, feeling a little unhappy that she couldn’t take the chance in time. “Well, there’s always a next time, Izzy.” Hitch Trailblazer told her while he helped calm her down and suggested she take a deep breath.
“Let’s go!” Zipp Storm told the other two ponies as they rushed off to watch the competition.
The competition just started, and the man pulled out the whistle from his pocket, placing it around his neck. “Now, we will count from three and when I say “GO!, start surfing!” He told Sunny Starscount and Pipp Petals before turning his attention towards the audience behind him and they started the countdown.
“Three, Two, One, GO!” Everyone said, therefore the two ponies began surfing on the surfboards through the waves.
Hitch, Izzy, and Zipp ran as fast as they could, but it was too late as Sunny and Pipp had started surfing already before they could arrive. “Oh, no, it looks like we were a bit too late.” Hitch Trailblazer said with worry, while he and the other two mares pushed people out the way and watch the competition as well.
While the ponies kept surfing, both Sunny Starscout and Pipp Petals pulled off some amazing tricks, leaving the entire audience surprised. “Come on, sister, win!” Zipp Storm shouted, hoping her sister could defeat Sunny Starscout despite being the shortest.
“I’m not losing today, Sunny.” Pipp Petals told Sunny Starscout, looking more brave and confident yet again. “Is that you think, shorty? Think again!” She responded back, looking more tougher and smarter compared with Pipp Petals feeling brave and having confidence inside her heart.
Sunny Starscout and Pipp Petals continued pulling incredible tricks as they surfed way throughout the ocean. “I had one game victory once before, and I can get another one.” Sunny Starscout, not letting one thing slip away that easily.
“Come on, Sunny! You can do this!” Izzy Moonbow and Hitch Trailblazer yelled, both voting for Sunny Starscout, whereas Zipp Storm voted for her sister as the winner for the surf competition.
“Surf’s up!” Pipp Petals told Sunny Starscout, as she had a plan up her sleeve so that she declare herself the champion. Pipp Petals surfed through the waves, causing Sunny Starscout to fall off her surfboard and into the water.
“Unbelievable, this has been decided!” The man said with a mixed expression between surprised and shocked. “The winner for this year’s “Annual Surfing Contest: 2021” is Pipp Petals!” He said, congratulating her for surviving through waves.
Pipp Petals, feeling happy that she won, saw the entire audience cheering for her, except for Hitch Trailblazer and Izzy Moonbow, who both looked annoyed that Sunny Starscout was not the winner.
“Alright, that’s my sister!” Zipp Storm said with excitement, as she flew her way towards her sister and the two hugged each other. “I couldn’t have done it better without the help from you and the audience.” Pipp Petals told Zipp Storm, as she was feeling more admired with her sister congratulating her for being the winner for 2021’s Annual Surfing Contest.
“Sunny!” Izzy Moonbow and Hitch Trailblazer shouted, as they rushed towards the ocean, watching Sunny Starscout swim her way through the ocean.
Sunny Starscout, looking exhausted from swimming and surfing, said, “I guess they say I can’t win everything…” “Don’t worry, we still care about you.” Izzy Moonbow said, laughing about the fact that she was still Sunny Starscout’s friend.
“Congratulations! You deserve a gold trophy and also a gold medal for becoming this year’s Annual Surfing Contest champion.” He told Pipp Petals, giving her the medal and trophy, in which she accepted for improving better throughout the competition.
Izzy Moonbow and Hitch Trailblazer carried a soaked and wet Sunny Starscout with them as they walked and went towards Pipp Petals and her sister, who clapped loudly as the audience.
“Congrats, shorty.” Hitch Trailblazer told Pipp Petals, as he handed her phone back to her.
“Sunny’s wet like rain.” Zipp Storm commented, laughing at Sunny Starscout looking all soak and wet from crashing into the water. “Yeah, I sure am.” Sunny Starscout replied, still not happy for the fact that she wasn’t the winner.
“Can you help carry this trophy for me?” Pipp Petals asked Izzy Moonbow, as she needed sompeony to help her carry the trophy. “Sure thing.” Izzy Moonbow replied, as she and Hitch Trailblazer helped carry Pipp Petals’ trophy.
The group walked together as the audience behind them still cheered for Pipp Petals.
“I gotta take a bath when I get back home.” Sunny Starscout told her friends, as she did not like having her mane and tail being very wet all day. “Don’t worry, we will help you when get back in time.” Izzy Moonbow said, cheering her up.
