That spider in particular is the alpha male of the Captain Spider’s crew. Even though he’s not totally in charge, he is still very powerful.
Often the Alpha Spider gets to command a crew of almost 20,000 spider warriors. But just because he leads an army, doesn’t mean he’s totally helpless on his own! His fangs are actually very poisonous. The poison in particular causes hallucinations that often confuse and relax its foe before he wraps up his victim in webbing and consumes it.
