Yes, pull the “It’s for little girls so quality doesn’t matter” crap.
I don’t expect Hasbro to follow the bronies’ every whim. I’ve just come to expect them to produce shows that appeal to all audiences; little girls, parents and teens alike. That was what made FiM successful in the first place.

“sigh”
I readed the same article days ago thank you very much. But did it ever occur to you that they might have gotten the picture from the same source where we got our last “offical art” of EG?
And that the new one is quite different from the old one which wasn´t that long ago when we got to see it?

So yeah, i doubt this is the final design, just like earth pony Fluttershy or Pegasi Pinkie Pie didn´t made it into the show despite being on concept.

@deathsia
yeah, I’m sure that really happened. Anyhow, who cares, it’s not really something people should be freaking out over the way they are. Oh no, a potentially bad show. Like I already said, just don’t watch it. They aren’t forcing you to watch it just by connecting it to FiM you know.

Not even little girls would watch this! I have proof! I showed my niece this who is currently 9 who loves the MLP FIM series and she said “you wanna know what I really think? screams with a overly dramatic horrified expression

Guys, that´s hardly the final approved design. :/
Its still just a concept art meaning, it got change just like the first one we had seen about EG. It could change alot. Twi and co in the final show looked different from the style than what we saw before it. Like Twilion…

So yeah, their faces and clothes might change in the coming months.

Besides, it looks like this came from the same source where we got our first EG “concept art” and now look how much that turned out to be true.

brilliant
though, on the other hand, if any of this ends up being close to reality you can just… I don’t know… not watch it?
Also, you guys have to remember, these shows are being made with little girls, not the brony fandom, in mind.

Those faces are just awful.

Those faces are what anime used to get mocked for in the early 2000s.

Why would you choose to emulate that. Why.

They look like Bratz dolls.

@Grieffon
They have good reasons to be quiet or give misleading info about certain things, but I’m pretty sure this is not one of them. Hasbro has already announced that Equestria Girls is a thing, and I would be quite surprised if they told FiM’s staff to say they are not involved even if it’s not true.

If anything, knowing that someone like MA Larson, Meghan McCarthy, Amy Keating Rogers or Daniel Ingram was involved in the show would quiet down some of the drama around the show, because then they could at least pull the “it’s in good hands” card.

Right now, EQG is just this bizzare thing that sounded like it might have been neat, but it’s turning into something that no-one outside the target demographic is going to want– and even then, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a commercial failure. Not everything Hasbro makes can shit gold bricks (Battleship anyone?).

@Grieffon
I was actually quite ready to love EQG when the early leaked image came out. My criticisms were that their torsos were too small and their arms were too short, but I thought they at least did a decent job of looking like human versions of the characters that would work in a cartoon. I was actually one of the few people speaking favorably of it back then.

The new designs though… Ugh. They are enough to make me quite fearful of the whole project.

Artist -

I still have no idea what the problem with wings on her is. So what.

If they added an extra eyelash people would bitch about it, people don’t like change, TOUGH.

They aren’t going away, so keep moaning. The brick wall cares!

@Grieffon
I’m also getting mixed information as to what the EQG cartoon actually is– some people are saying it’s an hour long TV special, and other people are saying it’s a full series that will air alongside FiM.

I don’t really know what to believe right now, but the one thing I know is that I hate the “revised” character designs quite powerfully.

Well then, now I understand where all of the hate is coming from. I wasn’t aware that it was being worked on by an unknown team with no ties to Studio B or FiM. Must’ve missed it while skimming articles on the subject, sorry.
