Doesn’t matter how you try to spin it the parents put their careers before their daughters upbringing. Even Steve Irwin had the forethought to open a zoo.

Everyone in the comments seems to be missing the detail that she could have been living with her Aunts the entire time, but the show implied she’s been living on her own since season 1 and only by season 9 is she now living with them.
 
Let me reiterate that, she, a child, had been living on her own for years.

Yes, be outraged that your parents didn’t want you to die dealing with wild and dangerous animals. And given Scoot’s temperament, she would have tried to wrestle with a cragodile or battle a bug bear and therefore exponentially increased her mortality rate, if not outright dying to an encounter by dangerous animals. It’s not bad parenting if they place you in dangerous situations which significantly raise your mortality percentages, it’s a late term abortion.

Because Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood had jobs which were far too dangerous for you to go on. Scootaloo also preferred to be in Ponyville rather than with her parents in Shire Lanka.
