Alternative Darkwoods
The alternative Darkwoods is a twisted version, ruled by a dark presence. Though the trees still live, they are more malicious and dangerous than ever before. The denizens of this Darkwoods feel that they’ve been wronged, and are prepared for war against the world outside.

In this world, most of the old beings who used to be in power have been replaced under the belief that they are “too passive” for such dark times:

Lady Ash and her sisters still maintain the enchantment of the forest, and are valued defenders of their home.

BlackJack was chosen for his charismatic nature to organize the bat ponies; their ability to fly and avoid the entwining branches both during day and night make them valued messengers between the center of the forest, and it’s outskirts.

Beryl, also known as the Madam of the Mines, moved into the tunnels under the Darkwoods’ center, after they came into use. She maintains them, and offers guidance through them for a small fee.

Usva, nephew of Sade, acts as the new keeper for the forest, and as the Herald of Darkwoods’ new power.

Church cannot be replaced as the guardian of the dead, though his hold on the spirits slackens in response to the state his home is in, and many of the dead now wander restlessly.
