Red Delicious was the first of his group of friends and classmates to get his cutie mark, and his twin brother (Russet) was obviously jealous. His cutie mark is a brown seed behind to green leaves, and he is talented with identifying seeds and plants of all shapes and kinds. However, like his father before him, he loses seeds very easily and everypony in Ponyville knows it. It’s funny, because he is so organized with everything else.
 
Red Delicious is the twin brother of Golden Russet, and is the friendlier of the two. He is usually polite and gracious, but often joins in on his brother’s teasing. Red flaunted his new cutie mark in front of Russet every chance he got until Russet got his, and then he showed off to Red how his cutie mark represented how he was “more of an Apple” than him. Red responded by pelting him with water balloons filled with paint until Applejack found out and yelled at them both.
 
Red is a bit clumsy, but he has good intentions. He also is a great comforter, and his friends usually go to him when they are upset. Granted, they have to search through the whole farm to find him (sometimes, he’s not even there), but they know that it’s better than going to Froz or Russet… Red also has his own group of admirers, mares, who often pester him with questions about what he looks for in a mare, who he thinks is pretty, etc. He always knows when a mare isn’t for him, and often jokingly takes them out on a date. The “date” is usually spent bucking trees, or doing some form of labor, which the mares usually freak out about (Red then states that, “A little bit of hard work never hurt anypony. Ya’ll should go chase after some other fella!”)
 
Red also has a crush on Fire Bolt, which she knows nothing of. He already knows that she is in love with Russet, seeing as how he asked her once, but he still holds out hope. He also knows that Russet has a crush on her as well, and he often facehoofs at some of their interactions, seeing as how Russet makes it obvious that he likes her.
 
It is very rare to not see the Apple twins apart, as they are very close. Russet and Red often go on double dates together, and also swap mares now and then if the other has no interest in one. Mares often flock after them wherever they go, which Russet thinks is hilarious, but Red finds it annoying most of the time. They often tease each other and their friends, but it is always in good spirit.
