why do you care whether they looked at filly funtasia when they were designing similar fetlocks and regalia and different colored horns and smooth textures and snout shapes? so they copied it, so what? so they didn’t copy it, so what?
 
why would anyone want someone to repeat the same mistakes and not improve their work, just in the name of not copying?

I forgot to mention that I am referring to MLP G5 when it comes to the fandom saying Hasbro copied Dracco. Here’s what G5 looks like, if you are curious:

The only proper “similarities” I can find are stuff that is either generic or is already done before in previous gens.

OMG, I’ve got it! Dracco has a time machine, they’ve ripped of Hasbro before Hasbro could invent it! That must be it. Clearly :D

To make things worse, this same fandom is now also currently saying Hasbro “stole” from Dracco just because their art styles are, by some crazy fandom logic, identical.
 
The two styles are almost nothing alike!

What idea beyond “talking ponies in (obligatory, because it already has talking ponies) magical world” did Filly allegedly ‘steal’ from MLP?
 
The Filly brand is much older than Friendship is Magic itself.  
Filly Funtasia itself was originally intended to air in 2012 and so couldn’t have copied anything past Season 3, even if it did…
 
I’ve seen some claim that Will’s wings are a rip off of changelings, but Will’s character design is from the Filly Fairy line, in 2009, years before Changelings would even exist in MLP.
 
Similarly we can’t exactly compare Twilight Sparkle’s School of Friendship (2018) as being ripped off to form Filly Funtasia’s School of Magic (2012) can we?
 
Their magic works different. They have some of the same races because they’re existing mythological creatures. And on top of that, Filly Funtasia has races that FiM doesn’t have, and vice versa, such as Elf Fillies, which FiM doesn’t have a counterpart of.
 
Filly is no more a rip off of MLP than Hollow Knight is of Shovel Knight.

Intentional or not; There may be at least a few things in the Filly franchise other than Filly Funtasia that have their own similarities seemingly specific to G5.

of course what they normally do is rip off other people’s ideas and then massively deny it, but they deny it because they want to not fight over it.
 
when we write laws punishing people for sharing, they’ll find ways to do so anyway. it’s just less wasteful that way.

Agreed. Quite frankly, I wish they would just stop fighting over it and just enjoy the ride, already.  
Everytime a change or a coincidence comes about, no matter how small, these so-called “fans” have to “Reeeeee!” like said children and put a damper on it for the rest of us.

Yes, I know. Maybe I should have clarified:  
I meant the fandom’s accusations are kind of ridiculous, and I think they as a result potentially makes Hasbro and Dracco look like two children fighting over a toy. Basically, the fandom’s accusations make both sound very immature in nature.
 
Hasbro and Dracco are not making accusations towards each other at all. They are just doing what they normally do, and there just happens to be a few coincidences.

Except the accusations are coming from within the fandom, not between the two companies.

mlp should copy filly funtasia. filly funtasia should copy mlp. because they both have some good ideas.

In my opinion, I think the strange accusations of “MLP G5 is copying Filly Funtasia which copied MLP G4” makes both Hasbro and Dracco sound like two children fighting over a toy.

…. wasn’t Filly Funtasia out at….2015? And just got a second season?
