Yeah, the original concept was a stallion, but in order to weave Trixie into a transgender just based on an early concept, this argument suffers from a blatant illogicality.  
As far as I know Trixie is a mare) that was how it was on the show. Well, just on the basis of this, you can drag any character to one or another movement.

It’s a transgender flag referencing the popular headcanon that Trixie is a trans girl, based on the following:
 
  1. Lauren Faust once tweeted that, in her head, one character from season 1 was trans. She has never said who.  
  2. Trixie was originally written as male but changed to a girl late in her debut episode’s development.  
  3. Until season seven, Trixie’s eyes have only a single reflection in them, which is a style of eye design used almost exclusively for masculine stallions. Other ponies with a single eye reflection: Big Mac, Prince Blueblood, King Sombra, Donut Joe, Flim and Flam.
