And I’m REALLY sorry that I never spent every waking moment discussing the magic of friendship with you. I had this thing called GROUND BREAKING MAGIC to invent. But thanks for pointing that out and then giving your student credit for MY work. She writes two lines that undoes a spell and that’s CREATING new magic? Seems like the opposite, don’t you think? Oh and if she’s getting into the Hall of Magic for that, be sure to put an asterisk by her name, considering you gave her Alicorn powers to boost her magical capacities by 300%. You see, in my day, I didn’t need to sprout wings and wear a crown to be the GREAT BUCKING UNICORN MAGICIAN IN THE LAND. I did it on my OWN merits. Not coasting on my mentors coattails and stealing credit from my colleagues. But no, enjoy your crown, Miss Sparkle. Clearly, you have “earned” this.

Also, Twilight mastered friendship magic to the extent that she became the first unicorn in history to complete and cast a spell using it. That’s a pretty big accomplishment.
Where on Earth did you get the idea that they sacrificed their Elements of Harmony?
Basically, Celestia tricked Twilight into sacrificing her own friend’s elements of harmony so she could turn her student who she spoils rotten into an alicorn and a princess for an extremely bullshit reason that she never earned that the others haven’t learned 5 times over with more common sense.
…That’s a ton worse captain obvious.
Second, based on what we saw Celestia didn’t do anything to Twilight expect congratulate her. She never used magic on her, the power that transformed Twilight came from within herself. It’s pretty clear that the completed spell, along with the Elements of Harmony and her own magical power, is what turned her into an Alicorn. If that’s what Starswirl wanted then maybe he should have studied the Magic of Friendship a bit more…

Exactly….why was everybody so HAPPY at her coronation? Not one fan of this episode has been able to give me an answer.

And to be perfectly fair, if she knew where all the elements were, which she did, don’t you think they deserved a little attention beforehand, instead of immediately counting on her thick-headed apprentice to make friends, something she really didn’t encourage in the first place?
Kind of reminds me of Seto Kaiba’s backstory honestly, for all those Yugioh and Yugioh abridged fans.
Not to mention tracking down the person who CAUSED Twilight’s immense power boost from Book Manipulator to Sorceress Supreme? Episode 23 made sense since she obviously didn’t HAVE a strong enough will on her own to have all that magical power, but it was just excess energy from RD’s Sonic Rainboom that tied together all their lives.
Damn you spell check! That was suppose to be multi-cellular life in Equestria, not mulch-cellular life. And damn derpibooru for not having an edit feature.
In Celestia’s defense, if she didn’t set the whole thing up, their world would have been plunged into eternal night. Kinda a bad thing being that it would have been nuclear winter on steroids and would have resulted in the end of all mulch-cellular life in Equestria.
Or, you know, Starswirl’s actually a mare.
